Zwingina was also the former Director-General of the MKO Abiola campaign Organisation in the June 12, 1993 presidential election. The House of Representatives has urged the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) to hasten action and sure trials of those who have suffered long detentions. A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Maitama has issued a public summons against immediate past Kogi Governor, Yahaya Bello to attend court and answer to a fresh  16-count pending against him. By the summons, Bello is to attend court on October 24 in response to the summons and for his arraignment along with two other defendants. Protesters in their hundreds comprising members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have stormed the streets of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to warn against the move to conduct the October 5 local government election. The stakeholders, who displayed various placards, converged on the PDP Secretariat in Port Harcourt and marched along the Azikiwe Road towards the Government House. The military high command has dismissed a Naval Rating, Seaman Abbas Haruna, for alleged “disobedience to particular orders, resistance to arrest and offences in relation to public and service property”. The Federal Government has announced a new fiscal regime with a wide range of tax exemptions in oil and gas industry. The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, said the fiscal incentives were aimed at revitalizing Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
