A former Inspector-General of Police, Mike Okiro, said the amendment of Section 7 (6) of the Police Act 2020 to allow for a four-year tenure for the office of the IG would stabilise the police system. Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the general overseer of the Redeem Christain Church of God (RCCG), has apologised for one of his past teachings on tithing. The cleric had said in one of his messages that anybody who does not pay tithe will not make heaven. Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State has empowered 8,000 youths and women with N100,000 Livelihood Support Grants for their existing and new businesses. Ododo flagged off the cash grants to the beneficiaries on Thursday at the Banquet Hall, Government House Lokoja, the state capital. The beneficiaries cut across all the 21 Local Government Areas of the state. Israel’s military said Thursday it had hit Hezbollah’s intelligence headquarters in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, as troops battled militants near the border and warplanes bombarded their strongholds around the country. Mr Femi Falana, the fiery Lagos lawyer, has denied having any connection with alleged bribery over prison arrangements or money laundering charges against Idris Okuneye (aka Bobrisky). President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has mourned the victims of the Niger State boat mishap which occurred on Tuesday. This is as more bodies are being recovered from the Gbajibo River, Mokwa Local Government Area of the state after a wooden boat carrying 300 passengers capsised, on Tuesday night.
