Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has granted Nigeria $600,000 relief fund for efforts and reforms in support of the health and agricultural sectors. The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 98 individuals involved in various crimes ranging from armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism to drug trafficking.  The state Commissioner of Police, Ishola Olanrewaju, announced this on Wednesday at news conference at the Command headquarters in Ikeja. The arrests were made between September 17 and 24. “We have successfully cracked several cases and brought to book suspects involved in crimes such as robbery, cultism, and kidnapping,” Olanrewaju said. The Ebonyi State Government has confirmed the death of ten persons from a fresh cholera outbreak in the state. The deaths, according to the state Commissioner for Health, Moses Ekuma, were recorded in Ndibokote Village in Ezza-Inyimagu, Agbaja Autonomous Community,  Izzi Local Government Area.  Ekuma, speaking to The Nation on Thursday, revealed that over 20 other persons from the area have been hospitalised for suspected cholera infection. Three hundred out-of-school children in the North West will be back to school, courtesy of an European Union (EU)-funded consortium, led by Plan International Nigeria, PI; Save the Children International, SCI, and Dispute Resolution and Development Initiative, DRDI. The three states to benefit form this plan include lKano, Jigawa and Sokoto. The presidency has confirmed that a cabinet reshufflement is to be undertaken anytime soon by President Bola Tinubu. Marcellus Williams, who was convicted of murder 21 years ago, has been executed in the Midwestern state of Missouri despite concerns raised over the integrity of the case. The United States Supreme Court, the last body that could have overturned Williams’s death sentence, declined to intervene in the case on Tuesday.
