After a long wait, former Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has decided and subsequently honoured the invitation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). A statement by Yahaya Bello Media Office, signed by the Director, Ohiare Michael, noted that the former governor was accompanied to the EFCC headquarters by high profile Nigerians. The statement, dated 18-09-2024, and made available to Vanguard, was entitled “FORMER GOVERNOR YAHAYA BELLO HONOURS EFCC’S INVITATION”. It will be recalled that the anti-graft agency had been on the trail of the former governor who has declined subsequent invitations.

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has said that the males in Nigeria are getting more infected with the dreaded Monkey Pox (Mpox) than females. This is according to statistical figures NCDC posted on its website. According to the figures obtained, 67 percent of Mpox cases recorded since January 2024 have been in males. A former Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (retd) has challenged the military to end the insecurity and killings in the country. The United Nations has supported the victims of the September 10 flooding in Borno State with $6 million. This was announced on Tuesday by Mohammed Fall, the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria.
