The Osun Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) has revealed that a total of eighteen political parties have registered to partake in the forthcoming local government area election in the state. The All Progressives Congress (APC) and sixteen other political parties in the Edo State gubernatorial election signed the peace accord ahead of the September 21 poll. This is as the ruling Peoples Democratic Party declined signing the accord. The coordinator of Clean Nigeria, Chizome Opara, has lamented that 48 million Nigerians still practice open defecation, saying immediate action is needed from all stakeholders to arrest the ugly trend.
