CBN Director Reveals How Nigerian Binance Users Conduct Transactions Using Fictitious Names
Mr Olubukola Akinwumi, a Deputy Director at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), on Friday explained how Nigerians trading on Binance Holdings Limited’s platform use false names in the transactions. Olubukola, who is the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)’s 2nd prosecution witness (PW-2) in the ongoing trial of Binance and its executive, Tigran Gambaryan, told Justice Emeka Nwite of a Federal High Court, Abuja, while giving his testimony. The governor of Kebbi State Nasir Idris, has declared Monday, July 8, as a public holiday to mark the beginning of the new Islamic calendar, lst muharram 1446AH. Alhaji Auwal Manu-Dogondaji, the state Commissioner for Establishment, said this in a statement in Birnin Kebbi on Friday. President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to inaugurate the construction work of the 1000-km Sokoto-Badagry Coastal Highway in August.
