There is growing tension among states yet to implement the N70,000 new minimum wage, following the December 1 strike notice given by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, to workers in defaulting states to commence the indefinite strike. The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) said it has intercepted 189 gallons and two trucks loaded with premium motor spirit otherwise known as petrol, that were being smuggled outside the country. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said it would investigate the electricity companies to unravel the mystery behind the constant collapse of national grid.
