The Ondo State House of Assembly has passed N96billion 2024 supplementary budget. Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa recently forwarded to the lawmakers, a bill for a supplementary appropriation, increasing the initial N395billion 2024 budget to N487 billion. Aiyedatiwa had anchored his request for a supplementary budget on the effects of petrol subsidy removal and to enable implementation of N73, 000 minimum wage recently announced for the state’s workforce. Iranian authorities executed four persons on Wednesday for their involvement in selling contaminated bootleg alcohol that led to the deaths of 17 people last year. The executions took place at Karaj Central Prison, as confirmed by the judiciary’s Mizan news agency. The House of Representatives Constitution Review Committee (CRC) has set up seven subcommittees to manage the review. The subcommittees, comprising lawmakers and consultants, are responsible for overseeing the various thematic areas into which the constitution has been divided. Ola Olukoyede, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has raised the alarm over the dangers of cybercrime in Nigeria. Olukayede, while speaking on Tuesday at a National Cybercrime Summit organised by the anti-graft agency, said Nigeria lost over $500 million to cybercrime in 2022. “Projections by multiple sources show that the global loss to cybercrimes may reach a staggering $10.5 trillion,” the EFCC chief said in Abuja. “As a matter of fact, the research I did earlier this year confirmed that cybercrime has become the third-largest GDP in the world with approximately 2,328 cases occurring daily.…
