The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has refuted reports that it plans to destroy uncollected permanent voter cards (PVCs). Speaking in a statement on Sunday, INEC called the reports making the rounds false and urged members of the public to disregard them. “Our attention has been drawn to a newspaper report that the Commission is contemplating the destruction of over six million uncollected Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) going back to the 2015 voter registration. “The report is incorrect. At no time did the Commission contemplate the destruction of uncollected PVCs. The public is advised to discountenance the story,” it said.…
Police operatives are hunting for gunmen who killed the Katsina Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeder Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alhaji Surajo Leader and two others in Kusada Local Government Area of the state last Saturday night. The gunmen who invaded Mai Rana community in Kusada LGA also abducted two of the deceased wives and his daughter who is an undergraduate student. The deceased has since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites amidst apprehension in the area. Suspected terrorists have killed Alhaji Amadu Surajo, the acting chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Katsina State, during an attack on Mai Rana village in Kusada Local Government Area late Saturday night. The attackers also killed three others, injured several people, and abducted Surajo’s first and second wives, along with one of his daughters, a university undergraduate.
