Former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), was on Tuesday morning brought before a Federal High Court in Abuja by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) ahead of his arraignment on a 16-count money laundering charge. Malami appeared in court shortly before 9 a.m., accompanied by his two co-defendants: his son, Abubakar Malami, and Bashir Asabe, an employee of Rahamaniyya Properties Limited, a company linked to the former minister. At least 16 people have died, including a child, following a terrorist attack apparently targeted at a Hanukah celebration at Sydney’s Bondi beach on Sunday. It is Australia’s worst mass shooting in 29 years. A police statement on Monday said 14 people died at the scene, with two more dying in hospital overnight. They said 40 people were injured. The child who died, a 10-year-old girl, was on of four children taken to Sydney Children’s Hospital following the attack. A 40-year-old man also died in hospital. Those killed range in age from 10 to 87, police said.
