The federal government on June 10, called for the harmonization of the National Identification Number (NIN) and the Tax Identification Number (TIN) to facilitate access to information and improve taxable income for the government. The minister of interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the call when the Secretary of the Joint Tax Board (JTB), Olusegun Adesokan, visited him in his office. Tunji-Ojo further advocated for inter-agency collaboration to achieve effective data management in the country. The Rivers state government has described the report that a state High Court sitting in Port Harcourt delivered a judgment declaring the 27 lawmakers led by Speaker Martins Amaewhule as members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as misleading and false. A military aircraft carrying Malawi’s vice president Saulos Chilima has been reported missing after it failed to make a landing Monday morning, the government said. “All efforts by aviation authorities to make contact with the aircraft since it went off the radar have failed thus far,” the government said in a statement. The plane, which took off just after 9:00 am local time (0700 GMT), was carrying 51-year-old Chilima and nine others. The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has announced changes in the leadership of its City of David parish. Pastor Charles Kpandei has taken over as the new pastor, succeeding Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, who had been leading the parish for many years.
