The Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin presided over by Justice Umar Zikir has fixed July 30, 2024, for the proper arraignment of 14 persons accused of killing Oba Aremu Olusegun Cole, the Onikoro of Koro town in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State in February 2024. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has approved the sale of foreign exchange (FX) to eligible Bureau de Change (BDC) operators at 1,450 naira to a dollar. The apex bank said the sum of $20,000 is to be sold to each BDC at the rate of N1,450/$ (representing the lower band of the trading rate at NAFEM in the previous trading day). An Indian Instagram influencer died after falling into a 300-foot gorge while shooting a video at the Kumbhe waterfall in the western state of Maharashtra. Aanvi Kamdar, 26, on a trip with seven friends, fell into the gorge near Raigad at around 10.30am on 16 July, police said.
