The Kano State Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Yusuf Kofar-Mata, on Wednesday, lost three of his family members to an early morning fire outbreak that gutted his residence at Kofar-Mata quarters in Kano metropolis. Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has reinstated Philip Shaibu as Deputy Governor of Edo State months after he was removed from the position.  In a judgment, Justice Omotoso said the impeachment by the Edo State House of Assembly was illegal and unconstitutional. The judge held that the impeachment was in gross violation of the Constitution. Aside from restoring Shaibu, the court also ordered that his salaries and allowances should be paid to him from April.

Five suspected cultists have been arrested at the Kogi State Polytechnic, the school’s management said on Wednesday. The suspects were nabbed on Tuesday during the ongoing second semester examination for the 2023/2024 academic session.
