The national average retail price for Premium Motor Spirit otherwise known as petrol increased year-on-year, YoY, by 37.44 percent to N750.17 per litre in June 2024 from N545.83 per litre recorded in the corresponding period of 2023. On a month-on-month, MoM basis, the average retail price decreased by 2.53 per cent from N769.62 per litre in May 2024. A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Wednesday, adjourned proceedings on the alleged money laundering case instituted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission against a former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, to September 25. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has said it is not aware of the requirement for Nigerians to have a $10,000 bank balance and pay N640,000 application fee to obtain its visa. The Kano State Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Yusuf Kofar-Mata, on Wednesday, lost three of his family members to an early morning fire outbreak that gutted his residence at Kofar-Mata quarters in Kano metropolis. The House of Representatives on Wednesday passed for second reading a bill seeking to amend the Appropriation Act, 2024 to provide for the issuance of N6.2tn from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation.
