American rapper,  Chris Brown was arrested at a five-star hotel in the United Kingdom on Thursday for allegedly attacking a music producer with a bottle at a nightclub in 2023. A bill to amend the Electoral Act 2022 and to make voting mandatory for Nigerians who are of age has passed second reading in the House of Representatives. According to online reports, the proposed legislation was sponsored by the Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, and Daniel Ago. The Department of State Services (DSS) has sued Prof. Pat Utomi over his alleged plan to establish what he called a shadow government in the country. The DSS, in a suit filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja, prayed the court to declare the move as an attack on the constitution. The Southeast Caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) threatened to pull out of the main opposition party unless the former National Youth Leader, Sunday Udeh-Okoye, is appointed as National Secretary. Lagos State Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Afolabi Ayantayo, has disclosed that 30% of civil servants who embarked on state-sponsored training programmes abroad failed to return after completing their programmes. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed that it recorded some technical errors that affected the credibility of the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, told journalists at a press conference in Abuja, on Wednesday, that the error affected candidates in some states, and plans are underway for a new arrangement for such candidates.
