Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo has withdrawn criminal charges against musician KWAM 1 and female passenger Ms. Comfort Emmanson, citing wide consultations with critical industry stakeholders. Keyamo said recent events in the industry concerning unruly behaviour of certain individuals are unfortunate, regrettably, the minister declared that valuable lessons have been learnt by all sides to these incidents and airport security protocols. Comfort Emmanson, the passenger accused of assaulting airline officials aboard an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos, has been charged in court and remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos. Ibom Air has slammed an indefinite flight ban on a passenger, Ms Comfort Emmanson, for assaulting its crew members in Lagos. The sanction is coming less than a week after popular Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, also known as KWAM 1, obstructed a ValueJet Airlines’ aircraft from taking off in Abuja. The African Democratic Party (ADC) has denied reports that it is pursuing a northern agenda. The management of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta, Ogun state, has demanded apology from the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for what it described as “invasion of private property” by its operatives. The Library equally threatened a legal action against the EFCC if it fails to justify the impudent actions of its operatives. Former Kano State Governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain Ibrahim Shekarau believes that only a coalition formed by political parties, not individuals, can unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Saturday said charges against human rights activist and 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) Omoyele Sowore are criminal. NPF said Sowore will soon face them in a competent court. Police said he was arrested based on credible, corroborated allegations involving criminal offences such as forgery, cyberstalking, and other infractions currently under active investigation. Former Delta State Governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, has described the late Audu Ogbeh as one of the most effective national chairmen in the history of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
