The Lagos State Government on Sunday announced a significant improvement in daily Cholera cases, stating that it has not recorded any death from the disease in the last 72 hours. In a swift response to a late-night robbery, police apprehended two suspects in the Imude area of Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos state. A Bayelsa State High Court, sitting in Yenagoa has sentenced a 41-year-old father, Baridapsi Needam, to 14 years imprisonment for raping and impregnating his daughter. The victim, however, gave birth to a baby girl in the pendency of the trial. The accused, Needam, in the suit numbered YHC/14C/2022 was charged with the offence of rape contrary to Section 1(1) of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law of Bayelsa State, 2021.
