The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has warned Nigerians against fire outbreaks across the country.
Adeboye gave the warning yesterday while preaching at the church’s February Holy Ghost Service held at the Old Auditorium of the church on the Lagos- Ibadan express way.
While calling on farmers not to burn bushes now, he also urged Nigerians to clear their drainages so as to avoid flooding.
“I want to warn each and every one of us. Don’t joke with fire this year. If you find a naked fire burning near your house, put it out. If the wind is blowing and fire is burning, anything can happen. So, please don’t joke with naked fire at all”.
“Those of you who are farmers, don’t bother burning bush this time. Just gather whatever you want to burn, gather it together in one place, leave it there. It will become useful by the end of the year. You know I am a farmer’s son. Some of the things that you are burning, you don’t need to burn them. Beware of naked fire this year. That is my appeal”.
