The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has expressed delight at the high level of synergy among members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) amid the numerous operational successes being recorded against terrorists, insurgents, kidnappers and other criminal elements in the country.

He made this remark on Tuesday while being briefed at the Strategic Operations Centre, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force.

The CDS also commended the AFN for the renewed efforts in the fight against oil theft in the Niger Delta region which, according to him, was in line with the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu towards ramping up oil production in the region.

Speaking further, General Musa noted that, “Though our current security challenges are daunting, they are, however, surmountable as long as we continue to work together as a team.

He then called for continued collaboration and cooperation among the Services and with other security agencies. The CDS also emphasised the need for increased discipline among personnel, stressing that “all hands must be on deck” to achieve the desired results.”

While appreciating NAF personnel for their unwavering dedication and hard work, the CDS assured that he was fully committed to providing all necessary support to enable the NAF and other Services rid the Nation of its security challenges.

He then commended the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar for his leadership and encouraged the NAF to maintain the momentum and continue working collaboratively with other services to ensure the security and stability of the country.

According to him, “We must continue to enhance our synergy and intensify air operations to combat terrorists and other criminal elements, curbing their operational freedom and fostering favourable conditions for successful ground operations by our troops.”

The CDS was accompanied by the Chief of Defence Operations, Major General Emeka Onumajuru, and other staff officers.
