David De Gea Set To Join Fiorentina On One-Year Deal With Option To Extend

David De Gea is poised to join Fiorentina as a free agent after agreeing on personal terms for a one-year contract with an option for a second year.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper, who has been out of football since his contract with Manchester United ended in July 2023, is scheduled to undergo a medical in Florence within the next 48 hours.

According to Sportitalia’s Alfredo Pedullà, De Gea’s new deal will see him earn €1 million per season, plus bonuses, with the potential to double his salary to €2 million if the option to extend is activated.

De Gea, who began his career with Atletico Madrid before moving to Manchester United in 2011, had struggled to find a suitable project that interested him after leaving the Premier League.

As De Gea prepares to join Fiorentina, current goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano is expected to depart, with Monza or Genoa emerging as potential destinations for him.
