#EndBadGovernance: Katsina Small-Scale Traders Report Significant Decline In Business

Small-scale business owners in Katsina State have decried low patronage as a result of the nationwide protests.

The protests reportedly led to not only the vandalisation of government and private structures and property worth millions of naira but also caused various degrees of injuries on the part of the police officers and the protesting youths as a result of a clash.

A 46-year-old petty trader at the Katsina Hajj Camp Roundabout, Aminu Adamu, told Channels Television that the business is not moving smoothly compared to other days before the protest.

Malam Adamu, who claimed to have spent over a decade running fruit businesses in the area, urged the Federal Government to support the small-scale businesses with enough capital to address inflation and economic hardship facing the country.

“Even if you purchase commodities, customers don’t come to buy due to high price after you might have exhausted all your money in purchasing the commodities, and before you know it, you will spend the whole capital you have accumulated,” he added.
