I Give Kudos To INEC For Throwing Out My Recall Petition – Natasha

Suspended senator representing Kogi Central senatorial district, Natasha Akpoti- Uduaghan on Thursday commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for rejecting the petition to recall her from the Senate.

INEC in a statement had said the decision to reject the recall petition was based on the provision of Section 69(a) of the Constitution, adding that the petitioners failed to meet the required one-half of the registered voters in the constituency.

Speaking on Channels Television, Natasha said INEC should have thrown the petition away in the first place as it is null and void.

“For me, the most important thing is that the recall process has been stalled and I give kudos and credit to INEC, even though I believe they should have thrown it away from the word ‘go’. I think it is void ab initio”.
