Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 general election, has been released following his detention at Lagos airport.
The activist, in a post on Sunday, had earlier disclosed in a post on his personal X handle that he was detained and his passport seized by officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), upon arrival in Nigeria.
He said his detention at the airport was not unexpected following his involvement in the recent nationwide #EndBadGovernance protest in the country and the subsequent one in October.WeÂ
