Nigeria’s Super Falcons are set to face Brazil in their opening match of the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament on Thursday. The game is scheduled for 6 pm local time at the Stade de Bordeaux in Bordeaux, France.

This highly anticipated clash is expected to be a test of skill and strategy as the Super Falcons take on one of the tournament’s strong contenders. With intense preparation behind them, the Nigerian team is determined to start their Olympic campaign on a high note.

The match will be officiated by referee Yu-Jeong Kim, with Mi-Suk Park and Joanna Kate Charaktis serving as assistant referees. Jelena Cvetković will act as the fourth official, while the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) duties will be handled by Kate Jacewicz and Ivan Bebek as the Assistant VAR.

Historically, Brazil has emerged victorious in both previous encounters between the two nations. Spain and Japan, the other teams in Group C, will play their match earlier at 4 pm.

All 12 teams will begin their campaigns on an action-packed opening day of the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in Paris 2024. Notable matches include France versus Colombia, Spain against Japan, and Germany facing Australia, among others.
