President Tinubu has officially approved a minimum wage of N70,000 for Nigerian workers and committed to reviewing the national minimum wage law every three years.

During a meeting with leaders from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu also pledged to support the private sector and state governments in implementing this wage.

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, announced that this meeting marked the second discussion between the parties in just a week.

Labour leaders expressed their gratitude for the President’s initiative and noted his commitment to using his authority to address the issue of unpaid salaries for university unions, which amount to four months.
