The Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC) has said that former Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State evaded arrest by operatives of the anti-graft agency on Wednesday with the assistance of his successor, Governor Usman Ododo. The EFCC said its operatives had laid siege to the Kogi State Government Lodge in Abuja in an attempt to apprehend Bello, who is wanted over an alleged N80.2bn fraud case. Despite the operation, Ododo allegedly helped Bello avoid arrest, leveraging the immunity he enjoys as a sitting governor. The stamps popularly referred to as: “Stamps of Lagos”, were released in 1874. It was a set of six postage stamps, valued and denominated in British currencies of Pound (£), Shilling (S), and Pence (d). Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, one time player of Arsenal, has reportedly been apprehended for allegedly trying to smuggle cannabis worth ₦1.2 billion. Emmanuel-Thomas, 33, who currently plies his trade for Greenock Morton in the Scottish Championship was said to be arrested on Wednesday. GDP represents the total monetary value of goods produced and services rendered within a specific period in a country. The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the June/July 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination, with 60.55 percent of candidates securing five credits and above in English Language and Mathematics. The Registrar of NECO, Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, made this known while briefing journalists at the NECO headquarters on Thursday in Minna, Niger State.
