Security operatives on Monday dispersed a group of protesters in the Karu area of the Federal Capital Territory. The protesters were still assembling when security agents intervened, arresting three individuals. One of the protesters, Yahaya Abdullahi, reported that the security forces used tear gas against the demonstrators. “Our people were just coming out when the police and other security agents started tear-gassing us and arrested some of our people. We know of three arrests so far”, He stated.

A Mexican crime reporter who was under police protection because of an attempt on his life was shot and killed Sunday, local officials said.
