Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has declared that those behind the incarceration of his former Chief of Staff, Bashir Saidu will pay for it before the 2027 elections. Saidu was released on Wednesday after spending 50 days in detention over alleged money laundering charges. Chairman of the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Kamal Bayewu says inspite of financial autonomy granted to them, local governments will still need collaboration with state governments if they want to succeed with people-oriented projects in their councils.
