The Edo governorship election tribunal has dismissed the petition by Action Alliance (AA) and Adekunle Rufai Omoaje against Governor Monday Okpebholo and his political platform, the All Progressives Congress (APC), as winners of the September 21, 2024, governorship election in the state. The three-member tribunal, in a unanimous judgment yesterday in Abuja, threw out the petition for being frivolous and lacking in merit. Veteran journalist and publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu has once again implored Senate President, Godswill Akpabio to urgently make peace with suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. Former chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN) on Tuesday said FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike is the epicentre of the political crisis rocking Rivers State. Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf has demanded compensation for the travellers killed in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State, most of whom are from Kano. Yusuf also insisted that the arrested perpetrators must be paraded for people, especially the bereaved families, to see.
