A former presidential media aide, Reuben Abati on Thursday says the drama carried out by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over attempt to arrest immediate past governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello is unnecessary. Abati, an anchor with Arise Television argued that Bello should have been arrested when he presented himself to the anti-graft agency at its headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday. Chief Olisa Agbakoba, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) says the Supreme Court ruling on 25 per cent of votes in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to be declared as Nigeria’s President supercedes his personal views. While Agbakoba, a former president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) had earlier said winning 25 per cent of votes in the FCT is compulsory to becoming president, the Supreme Court in October 2023 upheld the ruling by the Appeal Court that a candidate does not need to get at least 25 per cent of votes in the FCT to be declared as Nigeria’s…
