President Bola Tinubu has approved the extension of Kemi Nandap’s tenure as Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) until December 31, 2026. This decision comes amidst growing concerns over tenure extensions in public service, particularly within the NIS.

However, President Tinubu has extended her term to allow her to continue leading reforms aimed at modernizing Nigeria’s immigration processes and enhancing border security.

Under her leadership, the NIS has implemented technological advancements such as the e-Border Solution Project, automated visa issuance systems, and the deployment of e-Gates at airports. These initiatives have strengthened national security and improved migration management.

President Tinubu commended Nandap for her exemplary service and urged her to align the Service’s priorities with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the NIS in safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and promoting safe migration practices.
