Tinubu Tired, We Should Allow Him Go Home And Rest – Peter Obi

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has said President Bola Tinubu no longer has the capacity to effectively govern Nigeria, arguing that age and declining strength have affected the President’s ability to lead the country.

Obi made the remarks during an interview marking his 65th birthday, where he reflected on the state of governance and the nation’s future ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to Obi, many of the economic and policy measures currently being implemented by the Tinubu administration were previously discussed and supported by various stakeholders. However, he maintained that the President no longer possesses the energy and capacity required to address the country’s challenges.

“The truth is that President Tinubu is tired. He doesn’t have the capacity to govern this country today. Those who are pushing him are those benefiting from the confusion. It is time we allow him to go home and rest,” Obi said.

The former Anambra State governor stated that the Tinubu who served as governor of Lagos State is different from the current President, citing the effects of age and changing circumstances.

“The Tinubu that was governor of Lagos State is not Tinubu the President. They are two different persons in terms of strength. We are human beings. I won’t be doing what I’m doing today in the next couple of years. In the future, everything comes with age,” he added.
