    Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele Threatened Me At Midnight Over Akpabio Saga – Natasha

    Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has accused the Senate Leader, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele of threatening her at midnight over the altercation she had with Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

    Earlier this week, Bamidele had urged the Senate to take disciplinary action against Akpoti-Uduaghan based on the argument that her actions over seat arrangement had discredited the integrity of the upper chamber of the National Assembly.

    Natasha in a no-holds-barred interview with Arise TV on Friday also accused Akpabio of denying her certain privileges and treating her like a ‘second class senator’ because she rejected his sexual advances.

    According to her, her case with Akpabio is similar to a student being repeatedly failed by a lecturer simply because she refused the lecturer’s sexual advances.

    Recalling what transpired between her and Bamidele, Natasha said “It was 14 minutes past midnight when my phone rang. The leader of the House called me, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele and he said ‘Senator, how are you?’ I said I’m fine”.

    “He said in the face of all of these rancour, if the Senate President goes down, I (Natasha) will go down too. I said ‘what do you mean sir? At that point, I tapped and woke my husband up because he has fallen asleep before me. I said ‘are you calling me to threaten me?’ “.

    “I could hear the murmurs of the Senate President’s voice at the background because he was on speaker phone. Then he said ‘ I am just telling you that there is a whole lot of attacks on the Senate President and if things go down , if he resigns or something happens, I should know that I am going to be held responsible and I will also go down”.
