President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Anambra State governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, on his re-election, describing the victory as proof that the governor’s ideas and policies were yielding positive results for the people.

In a statement personally signed by him on Sunday, Tinubu said the outcome of the election was a clear affirmation of Soludo’s visionary and disciplined leadership.

He noted that the people of Anambra had once again demonstrated confidence in Soludo administration’s capacity to deliver progress and development.

“The overwhelming victory he recorded in Saturday’s poll has now made him the third governor in Anambra’s history to win a second term,” the President said.

“Professor Soludo’s re-election is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress the state has made under his guidance.”

Tinubu commended the governor for translating his intellectual background and academic excellence into practical governance, stressing that Soludo had shown that knowledge and innovation could drive sustainable growth.

“Governor Soludo, the Solution, has demonstrated that indeed knowledge is power and that academic principles can be applied in serving the people, undergirding accountability, transparency, and prudent management of people and resources,” Tinubu said.

He recalled his visit to Anambra in May, where he inaugurated several projects executed by the Soludo administration. He said the experience gave him firsthand insight into the depth of planning and the vision guiding the governor’s development agenda.

“I highlighted the good thinking behind the landmark projects being embarked upon by Mr Solution. That experience is indeed remarkable and will remain indelible in my mind,” he added.

Tinubu also praised the people of Anambra State, security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the peaceful and credible conduct of the poll, describing it as a demonstration of the nation’s growing democratic maturity.

He further commended the new INEC chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for what he described as a credible election, urging the Commission to sustain and build on the standards demonstrated in the Anambra poll.

The President lauded Soludo’s performance, noting that the governor had brought “discipline, grace, brilliance, and a fresh perspective to governance” and that under his leadership, Anambra State was “living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation.”

Tinubu urged the re-elected governor to be magnanimous in victory and seek cooperation from his opponents in order to build an even more united and prosperous state.

“I assure Governor Soludo of my unwavering support, and I look forward to continued collaboration between Anambra and the Federal Government,” the President stated.

Tinubu noted that Soludo’s re-election under the platform of the opposition All Grand Progressives Alliance (APGA) again reflected the vitality of Nigeria’s democracy, where performance and service delivery can transcend party lines.

“The victory of the opposition All Grand Progressives Alliance in the election demonstrates that victory for any progressive and hardworking leader can hardly be encumbered or denied,” Tinubu said.

The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the country’s electoral process, urging political leaders to continue working for unity, good governance, and the common good of all Nigerians.
