The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the June/July 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination, with 60.55 percent of candidates securing five credits and above in English Language and Mathematics. The Registrar of NECO, Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, made this known while briefing journalists at the NECO headquarters on Thursday in Minna, Niger State. The Federal Government has threatened jail terms to private employers who default in paying the N70,000 minimum wage to their employees. This is as it also called on agencies recruiting for the private sector to adhere to the N70,000 minimum wage, warning that any deviation would not be tolerated. Following poor maintenance of police barracks which has led to wear and tear of so many barracks in the country with attendant imminent collapse, the Lagos State Government has raised alarm on imminent collapsed of a police barrack, Mopol 20 Barracks, located at Onigbongbo in the Ikeja area of the state. The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has said that the males in Nigeria are getting more infected with the dreaded Monkey Pox (Mpox) than females. This is according to statistical figures NCDC posted on its website. According to the figures obtained, 67 percent of Mpox cases recorded since January 2024 have been in males.
