The Edo House of Assembly on Thursday faulted the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun over the suspension of the Edo State Security Network (ESSN). The Majority Leader of the House, Charity Aiguobarueghian, said that the security network was established in line with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended. The Osun Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) has revealed that a total of eighteen political parties have registered to partake in the forthcoming local government area election in the state. The All Progressives Congress (APC) and sixteen other political parties in the Edo State gubernatorial election signed the peace accord ahead of the September 21 poll.
